TROY, Ala. (WDHN) — Troy has a new Homecoming Queen, this time from the City of Progress.
Enterprise native Savannah Maddox, a senior studying elementary education, was crowned as the university’s 2019 queen during last Saturday’s game against Georgia Southern.
Her father, Kevin Maddox, escorted her during her crowning.
“It is such a great honor,” Maddox said. “Troy University has always had a special place in my heart. It has truly helped me become my best self. I’ve always wanted to give back to the university, and I’m so glad to have this opportunity to represent it with pride.”
As a student of Enterprise High School, Maddox distinguished herself by being chosen as one of the eight high school cheerleaders chosen to be a member of Inside Cheerleading’s All-American team in 2015. She was also named Outstanding Student of the Year during her time at EHS.
Maddox was sponsored by the Kappa Delta Pi National Education Honor Society during her run for homecoming queen.
