Enterprise City School District changes the way it holds kindergarten classes

Local News

Enterprise, Ala. (WDHN)—For the first time in a decade, kindergarten classes will be held in each of Enterprise’s six elementary schools.

In 2009, the early childhood education center was built specifically to house all kindergarten classes, but beginning in the 2020-21 calendar year it will also become a k-through sixth-grade school.

Enterprise school officials say they believe it’s better for the kindergartners to be split into classes in each elementary school.

Following the destruction of Hillcrest in the March 2007 Enterprise tornado, the early childhood education center served as a temporary elementary school.
