Dothan woman rescued by grandchildren after fire breaks out next door

Local News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan firefighters put out a fire Monday evening after a blaze broke out at a Tacoma Street home with flames reaching around 30 to 40 feet high.

The fire even burned the trees around the house, with small bits of fire still burning in the branches hanging above.

The house next door also sustained some damage. The resident, an elderly woman, was ushered to safety by her grandchildren.

We are working to learn how the owner of the first house is doing.
