Dothan woman charged after making a fake shooting call, police say

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dothan woman is facing a criminal charge after allegedly making a prank 911 call.

Officers responded to a firearm assault call on Marquis Drive near Southeast Health only to find that there was no such incident after finding all the people involved.

After coordinating with their communications center, officers tracked the call to the 300 block of Mustang Drive and arrested Christina Prado, 38, on a making a false report to a law enforcement authority.

“These prank calls waste valuable time and resources that can be used in protecting the community and helping people that really do need these services,” a release from DPD states.
