ELBA, Ala. (WDHN) — Two Dothan natives are behind bars in Coffee County after reportedly shooting at a man Monday evening, according to the Elba Police Department.
An EPD release states that a man called authorities for help as he was being chased on U.S. Highway 84, saying that the vehicle behind him was shooting at him.
The victim said the men driving the vehicle, a white 2018 Jeep Renegade, tried to get him to stop, but the victim kept going, attempting to head to downtown Elba until officers could intervene.
Two bullets struck the victim’s trunk lid and rear bumper during this time.
Police eventually stopped the suspects — Dayshon Williams, 18, and Tyshaun Griggs, 19, of Dothan — taking the two into custody.
Upon arrest, police took numerous objects from the vehicle, including two long guns, two pistols, a couple of bandanas, numerous magazines, and a gold Halloween mask.
Williams and Griggs are now in jail without bond for attempted murder charges.
A typo was made concerning the firearms. Four were found, two long guns and two handguns. The article has been changed to reflect the right number.
