DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The 11th annual Goree Festival is about to start.

Coordinator Bill Goree started the event after his daughter, Sarah, passed away.

He said Sarah loved children and wanted to help the Child Advocacy Center.

That’s when Goree got the idea from friends to hold a Boston butt sale.

All benefits go toward the Child Advocacy Center to help with services it provides to children for free.

“We totally appreciate all the donors, the supporters, the people that stand in line and wait it makes us feel really good,” Goree said.

The sale will start Thursday Nov. 19 and will last until the 21st or until everything is sold out.

They’ll have $25 slabs of ribs and $30 Boston butts.
