Dothan man arrested in woman’s rape, kidnapping

Local News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan police arrested a man Tuesday after they say he raped and kidnapped a woman sometime between April 23 and May 5 on TV Road.

Lt. Scott Owens told WDHN that suspect Mark Stephen Perdue, 56, forced himself on the victim and forced her into her own car with the help of an unknown individual, threatening the victim with violence.

The kidnappers took the woman to an unknown area in Florida and left her there, driving away in her vehicle. The victim managed to get help and call 911.

Officers later found Perdue with the victim’s car still in his possession. He is now in the Houston County Jail on three charges of first-degree rape, second-degree kidnapping, and receiving stolen property secon-degree.

The case is still under investigation, and more arrests are possible.
