Several board members thanked Edwards for her service, saying she has contributed greatly to the system’s success in the two and a half years she worked for DCS.

“Together under Dr. Edwards, we have accomplished more in two years than we have in 10-15 years,” District 3 Susan Vierkandt said.

District Two Board Member Franklin Jones also addressed leaks from the central office, which prematurely released the news of Edwards’ resignation that was discussed in executive session.
