Dothan City School Board approves Dothan High School’s new band director

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan High School will welcome its new band director this fall following the Dothan City School Board of Education’s approval.

Robert Childers is an Auburn University graduate. He received his Masters in Music Education in May. He will work alongside assistant band directors Jamie Howell and Marcus Jordan.

According to Dothan High School Principal Bill Singleton, Childers was responsible for band three assistants as well as the Auburn University Marching Band itself.

Childers was one out of 24 people who applied for the band director position.
