DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce has joined a national movement.

Chamber officials, along with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Bipartisan Policy Center, will help launch the build by the Fourth of July campaign.

The campaign is meant to urge new and old congress to create a fiscally and environmentally safe infrastructure plan by July 4 of this year.

“We’re joining the coalition that the U.S. Chamber put with organizations all over the United States to call on Congress, to pass an infrastructure bill by July 4,” executive director Dean Mitchell said. “This is not a Republican issue. This is not a Democratic issue. This is an American issue that can affect communities all across our nation and especially right here in southeast Alabama.”

Mitchell said the chamber is confident this push will help get the funding we need here in the Wiregrass to clean up our roadways.
