Dothan Botanical Gardens reopens playground area

Local News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Dothan Botanical Gardens has reopened its playground.

The gardens have remained open since the pandemic began but have seen a large decrease in business.

This comes as COVID-19 numbers are on the rise in the county.

However, the garden’s executive director said the gardens received the go ahead to the reopening.

“They had told us that after the last health order from the governor that it would be okay to reopen,” Executive Director William Holman said. “They’ve learned a lot about the virus, you know, since it first started and because it’s outdoors and it’s in the sunlight, we were told it was okay to go ahead.”

The gardens are accepting admission on an honor system.

They are open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
