OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — The Dale County Sheriff’s Office needs your help to bring a 5-year-old cold case to a close.

Five years ago, Charles Childree of Dale County disappeared and has yet to be found.

Childree was born in 1948, which would make him about 72 years old now.

Dale County Deputy Sheriff Mason Bynum explained how cold cases can be solved, even after years of being open.

“A lot of times the public, they forget about stuff like this, so we’re trying to bring attention back to it, it’s been five years since he went missing,” Bynum said. “We haven’t forgotten about it. It’s still on the forefront of our minds so we want to make sure the public is still aware. If you remember anything or some new information has come to light, we need you to pass that along to us.”

If you have any information about Childree, contact the Dale County Sheriff ‘s Office at 334-774-2335.
