Coffee County law enforcement keeps an eye on roadways and waterways

COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — During the summer months, one Wiregrass law enforcement agency has been proactive in regards to keeping crime in check. Coffee County Sheriff deputies have been patrolling rural roadways and waterways looking for illegal activities.

Chief Deputy Ronnie Whitworth said keeping a presence is important when deterring crime.

” We have bridge patrol where our deputies monitor the waterways under bridges to prevent drugs and drinking. We can’t let that affect the safety of those who are trying to swim,” Sheriff Dave Sutton said.

Authorities will remain vigilant in keeping a lid on drugs and other illegal activity in the areas.
