DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Houston County School bus carrying students was damaged in a wreck Friday noon.
Superintendent David Sewell said that a car was traveling north on Blackmon Road when it ran a stop sign and hit the bus while it was on Saunders Road. The children were headed to the Houston County Career Academy at the time.
“The bus driver did a good job avoiding, trying to avoid the car and keep the damage to a minimum,” Sewell said.
As soon as the bus stopped, the driver got the children off the bus. No one was injured, according to Sewell.
Sewell said this was a testament to the bus’s high quality construction, which kept the students safe.
