BREAKING: Suspicious death under investigation by Geneva County Sheriff’s Office

COFFEE SPRINGS, Ala. (WDHN) — The Geneva County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death.

Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms told WDHN that the deceased woman was found inside a vehicle on Geneva County Road 56 in Coffee Springs.

Family and neighbors attempted to revive her before she was taken to Medical Center Enterprise where she was pronounced dead.

The woman’s body is being sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy. Helms said he hopes to have more information on what led to the woman’s death after the results come back.

At this time, the woman’s name and age have not been released. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is assisting local authorities in the investigation.
