BARBOUR COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Barbour County fishermen, you will have to find a new fishing hole for the next three years.
The Barbour County Public Fishing Lake is temporarily closed for repairs as a leak in the drainage structure needs to be fixed.
The lake is supposed to reopen in spring 2023.
The Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries has removed all daily creel limits and length limits for all species of fish at the lake so anglers can make use of the resource before the lake is drained.
Anglers must still have a $3 fishing permit and a valid fishing license.
You can buy those permits and licenses at the lake.
