DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — As protests and violence continue around the nation, local firearms sales have gone up.
One local shop owner, Dan Nicholson, said his store has seen a tremendous increase in sales over the past few days. Nicholson said, in times of uncertainty, people generally spend more money on items they believe can be used to protect themselves.
“It makes people think, ‘Well I’ve got to have some way to protect my family’,” Nicholson said. “We’re seeing a lot of new gun owners, and people that may have had one or two but now they want to get some more ammo and stuff like that.”
According to Nicholson, his store saw increased sales at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, but they eventually decreased.
