DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — “It’s been slow it’s been a challenge, but ever since we were deemed as essential it put a lot of responsibility on us,” Co-owner Paul Padgett said.
Paul Padgett shared the health and safety implementation guidelines for social distancing.
“We had to make sure the 6ft rule, we went around taped all the areas off,” Padgett said.
The dealership has hand sanitizer stations available, is cleaning regularly, and is using covers on the cars steering wheels and seats to prevent the spreading of germs since being deemed essential.
“People have problems with their cars it needs to be fixed now, people have a flat tire it needs to be fixed now, and you know I didn’t realize how essential we really were,” Padgett said.
Mercedes Benz of Dothan is doing their part to stay open for business and have an online process available for customers to buy a car without having to come into the dealership. E-commerce Director, Brigitta Coker explains.
“In the past year we have streamlined our online purchasing experience to ensure that our clients have a hassle-free buying experience. Following the 4 step process, you’ll submit it, once you’ve done that we will contact you for final details and how you want the vehicle delivered or picked up here at the dealership.
Despite the challenges, Padgett is optimistic about the future.
“We’re open! It’s our time of the year, but it’s been a slow time right now but I think through it all, it will pick up and I think I can see hints of it picking up now, so I think we’re uh, hopefully, we’re on the other side of this.
