Local businesses to participate in Ozark’s holiday open house

OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — Christmas is still over a month away but that’s not stopping the city of Ozark from the start of the festivities.

“The Come Home from Christmas Holiday Open House is sponsored by the chamber of commerce and coordinated through the merchants it’s Thursday, November 12th from 5 to 8 pm,” Ozark Chamber of Commerce Director Rosmarie Williamson said.

Residents will have the opportunity to enjoy some Christmas refreshments while shopping at the 14 local businesses participating in the event. The merchants will be offering a special discount.

“It’s a good time to just come out and see what we have to offer. We have many stores that offer unique gift items and we want you to shop Ozark,” Williamson said.

Williamson says the longtime event is important every year, but this year it means more as small businesses have been fighting through the pandemic. And speaking of the pandemic, if you dont want to get out in the crowd for safety reasons, that’s not a problem. There is still a way to support it.

“Many of the merchants are still offering sales through Facebook and on their website, many of you can just call them up and say I seen this on your Facebook page and I need it they’ll offer curbside services, mail it or in some cases deliver it to you,” Williamson said.

Also, for the children out there make sure you are on your best behavior while shopping as Santa will be visiting from the North Pole.

“Santa is always apart of the holiday open house and he will be apart again at the Holman house,” She said.

Williamson says if you want to find out which stores are participating, you can look it up on the Facebook page. If you forget your list at home, there will be a lantern outside of the business.
