KINSEY, Ala. (WDHN) — The roads, the grass, the trash, and loud music has local residents upset. Residents believe they work hard to keep up their properties while others don’t.
“You wanna move but you can’t move because you can’t afford to move out here. You can’t sell what you owe for, there’s no way you can get out, that’s why we are trying to get Kay Ivey to come down,” Richard Paetz said.
Residents believe there has been an increase in crime with tenants not taking care of their land.
“I pay a $171 a month for taxes and my insurance, and I think we should have more safety out here,” John Moon said.
Moon said some of the residents are using open space to create a target practice.
“Where you go shot your gun bang bang bang right outside of my house. I called the police department,” Moon said.
They say the road conditions are not the best, and some of them take turns grating the road because there have been issues in the past.
