Jeannie Maddox art studio to open to the public this weekend

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — One world-renown artist is opening up her home this weekend to the public for the 24th annual Jeannie Maddox open studio.

The event will be held this Friday through Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. at 1721 Choctaw street in Dothan.

Jeannie Maddox, who has been teaching since 1971, has won more than 400 art awards. The artist’s annual open house will feature several of her original oils and embellished prints.

Also on sale, this year, for the first time ever, will be artwork from nearly 20 of Jeannie’s Students.

“It’s just a great time to see what I feel and what many people feel is Dothan’s most outstanding artist,” Sam Maddox said.

Jeannie Maddox’s artwork has been shown at art shows around the country up to 20 times annually.
