The four commissioners made their appointments to the Southeast Health Board this week.
The appointments were Bernard Ward, John McDaniel, Taylor Knight, and Robert Fenny. Ricky Herring, a Houston County commissioner, said the people on the board must be someone who is willing to serve, cares about people, and wants to serve the community.
“We’ve got two hospitals, one being Flowers and one being Southeast Health,” Herring said. “SouthEast Health is very important, you know, to what’s going on, but it is a hospital that is regulated more or less by the state of Alabama and because it is part of the health care authority.”
Those appointed by the commission will serve a six-year term.
