Houston County 2016/2017 year end financial report

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala.– At the Houston County Commission meeting this morning, Chief Administrative Officer Bill Dempsey presented the 2016/20-17 year end report.

Expenses exceeded revenue for the county by $1.5M and the county has a credit rating of double A minus were a couple of the key points presented.

“A lot of activity occurred last year especially in the road and bridge area. A lot of good projects were completed. Overall we continue to see a declining insurance, worker comp continues to go down,” said Bill Dempsey.

He says went on to see that overall the county has a very good financial report.
