DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Travelers around West Main Street and Honeysuckle Road will have to deal with more obstacles as maintenance continues.
Honeysuckle Road will be closed Sunday at 6 a.m. as crews continue to replace sewer lines in the area. Traffic will be blocked from the road’s intersection with Wesley Way to the busy intersection at West Main Street.
This roadblock should not last long since Blankenship Contracting, Inc. said the work should be done in the afternoon hours.
“A detour will be in place at Wesley Way for all northbound traffic on Honeysuckle Road,” a release from the city of Dothan states. “All southbound traffic on Westgate Parkway will be required to go east or west on Main Street during this time of construction.”
Other lane closures will remain active. The work on West Main Street has plagued drivers for a while, forcing them to either wait in traffic during busy hours or find alternate routes.
