Homeless man accused of robbing gas station

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A homeless man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly entering the Circle K service station on Ross Clark Circle demanding money from a store clerk.

Derrick Gibson, 31, is charged with first-degree robbery.

According to Dothan police Lt. Doug Magill, Gibson had a stick in his pocket making it appear that he had a handgun. Then, Gibson demanded money from the register and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Gibson is booked in the Houston County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
