(WDHN) — The Henry County commission approved for the sheriff’s department to take bids on three vehicles for the department.
The vehicles help the department to refresh the fleet and allow the deputies to drive better vehicles with equipment to operate with.
Henry County is about 600 miles so having close to 20 deputies they put a lot of miles on the cars every year.
“We’ve devised a plan where about every year if we order three vehicles for about four years, we can order vehicles and take a break for a year or two,” Chief Deputy Michael Neiswanger said. “Then, go back to a plan where we can refresh our vehicles and start that process again on about a four-year plan.”
With the addition of the three new vehicles, it will give the department a total of 13 within the last three years.
