DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — It was a long, but eventful day at Harley Davidson Saturday. The day consisted of a lot of work.
Yeah, it takes a little bit of work to get it all coordinated and flowing right, but at the end of the day, we fed a lot of people, entertained a lot of people, and brought a lot of new people and new faces into the dealership,” said Jessica Cruse, Harley Davidson’s Marketing Manager.
The business accomplished that by holding a celebration for 47 years in business along with a birthday party for Owner Dutch Holland as he turned 87. His wife, Sara, celebrated her 82nd.
“My dad lives and breathes Harley Davidson he loves it. He had a great day seeing many friends coming by hugging his neck and shaking his hand. My mom enjoyed seeing everybody too. She doesn’t get to come in every day like my dad still does,” said Bill Holland, the co-owner and son of Dutch.
Many people came out to show their love for Dutch and the business as they socialized, took pictures, ate good, and even got signed magazines.
In addition to those who came out to enjoy the fun, there was a special appearance. Country music artist, Shane Owens, performed a good ole country concert for the people and even wished Dutch a happy birthday.
“Ah man it’s unbelievable to be 87 years old is a blessing, we’re never promised tomorrow. I hope I’m able to see 87 if the good Lord will, he’s still getting around, he’s attentive, he’s smart, and what he does for the community is unreal. We want to wish him another birthday,” Owens said.
Although the party lasted a couple of hours, all in all, it was overall a good day at Harley Davidson.
