Governor Ivey participates in COVID-19 distribution discussion with Vice President Pence

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)— WDHN reached out to Governor Ivey’s office about a phone call she had with Vice President Pence Monday afternoon. The call was concerning a potential vaccine for COVID this month.

The White House Coronavirus Taskforce call was led by Vice President Pence and Operation Warp Speed was a focal point of discussion, Governor Ivey was extremely pleased to receive the update on the vaccine front. Of course, the vaccine development process is ongoing, but based on these continued discussions, Governor Ivey is hopeful that the vaccine will begin circulating later this month. The Governor was pleased to hear the effectiveness of the vaccine based on the data gathered through the trial period.

WDHN is told overall, Governor Ivey thought the conference call was extremely promising, and she reminds Alabamians to stay vigilant as we near the beginning phases of the vaccine distribution.
