BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WDHN) — A Geneva woman made it big at this year’s Ms. Alabama Nursing Home Pageant.
Gwendolyn Haney, 80, placed as the competition’s second runner up out of 50 candidates across the state.
While Ms. Haney did not snatch the big crown, she did say she looks forward to helping people in any way she can.
“I am planning to go forward,” Haney said. “Inside this 80-year-old body, I did a lot of living, and I have a lot of living left it in so I plan to do everything I can to help people.”
This year’s Ms. Alabama Nursing Home was Ms. Ann Trucks, who was crowned by Miss Alabama 2019 Tiara Pennington. To read more about the pageant, click here.
