GENEVA, Ala. (WDHN) — Geneva council members met in a regular session Tuesday night.
A lot of topics were discussed but the biggest one involved a discussion of recent social media postings about an area resident who reportedly is a law enforcement investigator and is being accused of scamming people in the area by asking for donations.
The meeting went into executive session when this issue came up, but one Geneva resident expressed her concerns after the meeting and wants something to be done.
“I saw her public records and all the fraudulent history she has done and people that have fraudulent past usually have a fraudulent future,” Geneva resident Donna Enfinger said.
Enfinger says she felt the need to bring the issue up to the council and hopes something will be done.
“Basically, what we’re asking for is an investigation to be launched to see if the donations are actually going where they supposed to go. That a cease and desist will be ordered upon her because sooner or later someone is going to get hurt because there are death threats coming from both sides.”
The council was unable to take action as of Tuesday night.
