Geneva police working diligently to solve burglaries

GENEVA, Ala. (WDHN) — Lt. Michael McDuffie of the Geneva police department examined a stolen four-wheeler and dune buggy.

Last week, the Geneva, Holmes, and Walton County sheriff offices made a trio of arrests in a crime-ring operating on both sides of the state line. The suspects reportedly targeted rural homes and businesses.

In the last two days, Geneva police have closed in one dozen cases.

“It seems like most of the action was in our jurisdiction, but on the outskirts, we haven’t really found any neighborhood burglaries yet,” Lt. McDuffie said.

With the arrest of burglary suspects, authorities warn residents to be cautious. Unfortunately, Black Friday kicks off those criminals who target holiday shoppers.
