Fundraiser for non-profit organization helping save Dothan’s Ducks

News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Last week, local Emerald Pond neighborhood resident Leslie Mashay Van Ness and her family spent several hours rescuing sick and dying ducks out of the neighborhood pond.

They have taken over 19 ducks to Big Bend Wildlife Sanctuary and now Van Ness is trying to help once more.

She has started a fundraiser page on Facebook to help Big Bend Wildlife Sanctuary, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the care of orphaned, sick, abandoned, and injured native wildlife

Sanctuary workers are hopeful that through education and public awareness, citizens will become sensitive to the needs of wildlife and will aid in the preservation of wildlife and wildlife habitat.
