Former political rival endorses Ozark Mayor Bob Bunting

You may remember that not too long ago, Chaddwick Crews and Bob Bunting were running against each other for the position of Ozark city Mayor.

The results of the August 25 election led to a runoff race between incumbent Mayor Bob Bunting and Dale County Commission Chairman Mark Blankenship. Thursday, Crews officially announced his endorsement for Mayor Bob Bunting. He says over the next four years, if Bunting is re-elected, he plans to shadow him as they battle unemployment and poverty rates.

“When you’re in the battle, a community, a country you don’t change leadership in the midst of a battle, and I endorse Mayor Bob Bunting. Four more years with Bob,” Crews said.

During the endorsement ceremony, the men spoke about working together over the next four years. Bunting jokingly shared that Crews would be pushing him around in a wheelchair if need be. Immediately following the endorsement, the men went out and removed Crews’ campaign sign and replaced it with Bunting’s.
