Former Senator campaign manager arrested for theft from Windmill Station

DOTHAN, Ala. -

A former campaign manager of Senator Harri Anne Smith and Dothan School Board member and current member of the Dothan Planning Commission and fundraising chairman for Wiregrass 211 has been arrested and charged with theft of property 1st degree. 

On Monday, Dothan police received a report of a theft at Windmill Station on June 26, 2018 and began an investigation immediately.

Owners of the company reported that while Gayla White,51, who was an employee had stolen $2,700.00 worth of deposits from November 2017 to June 2018.

After an investigation, White was taken into custody and charged with one count of theft of property 1st degree. She has a bond amount of $30,000.00.

 Wiregrass 211 released a statement on Tuesday saying:

This is an issue between Ms. White and the Windmill Station. Ms. White has resigned as a board member at 211 and we are not aware of any fiscal issues with our Wiregrass 211 program.
