Former deputy arrested on child porn charges

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WDHN) — Agents with the Alabama Attorney General’s office arrested a former Jefferson County patrol deputy for possession of child pornography Wednesday, according to Attorney General Steve Marshall

The deputy in question is Phillip Wayne Humphries, 56, of Trussville.

Special Agents of the Attorney General’s Office investigated the case with some help from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. 

If convicted, Humphries could get up to 10 years in prison for possession of child pornography. According to our sister station WIAT, Humphries was hired by the sheriff’s office on April 4, 1989, and is now being held on a $15,000 bond
