Dothan, Ala. (WDHN) — Today, Governor Kay Ivey and the Alabama Grocers Association honored grocery store workers who have been on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
February 22nd, was declared “Supermarket Employee Day” in the state of Alabama.
Since grocery stores have mostly stayed open to serve the public, Alabama state legislatures said they wanted to honor workers for all their hard work.
Grocery store workers seem excited to be honored during these hard times.
“We have been here, we haven’t closed our doors from the get go,” manager of Ashford Food Depot Robyn Scearce said. “We’ve been here all the time. And it makes me feel good to know that they consider us essential workers
