DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Three people are dead after several traffic incidents over three days.
The most recent death was at Highway 84 and Cairns Field Road in Level Plains, according to the city’s police department.
According to a source, it was a pedestrian that was hit around 10 p.m. Sunday. The case is being investigated as a hit-and-run.
Meanwhile, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency also reported two deaths from single-vehicle crashes over the weekend.
The first was a Brundidge woman killed on Pike County Road 5522, around three miles south on Troy. This incident happened at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
Contina Latollicer Baker, 43, was driving her 2002 Nissan Xterra when it flipped over, throwing her out of her vehicle. ALEA said she was not wearing her seatbelt and that speed was a factor in the crash.
Hours after ALEA reported Baker’s death, another woman was killed in a crash on Ashford Road, two miles west of Ashford.
At 1:20 a.m. Sunday, Ashley Brook Crane, 40, died while driving her 2011 Honda CRV. ALEA said the SUV left the road, hit a drainage culvert, and flipped over.
She died at the scene.
Both crashes are under investigation by ALEA.
