ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — U.S. Constitution Day was celebrated in many different ways nationwide Tuesday.
At Enterprise State Community College, the event was commemorated by a live reading of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
It took place in the foyer of the student center next to the Constitution display table. Instructors and students took turns reading passages of the document, which was signed on Sept. 17, 1787.
“We don’t expect them to memorize or remember everything that was read today, but we hope it piques their curiosity and interest in reading more about it,” history instructor Sam Covington said.
The U.S. Constitution Display will remain set up through the rest of the week at the ESCC Student Center.
