ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — The City of Progress unveiled a newly designed special cancellation stamp in honor of the Enterprise Boll Weevil Monument Centennial.

The new stamp will be used to pay tribute to the city’s 100th anniversary of the monument which is next Wednesday, Dec. 11.

On that day, all of the mail that goes out from the Enterprise post office will be stamped with the new centennial stamp free of charge.

Holly McSwain of Quality Printing is responsible for the stamp’s new look.

“They will cancel it with the special stamp just that day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., you can bring those in,” McSwain said. “There will be a special express line made just for the Boll Weevil centennial and you can get in that line and get your mail stamped.”

The last time the Enterprise Boll Weevil stamp was updated was 25 years ago in 1994 to celebrate the Boll Weevil Monument’s 75th anniversary.
