Enterprise hosts World’s Smallest Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

26th  Annual World’s Smallest St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Enterprise, AL – On March 16, Enterprise will celebrate its 26th year hosting the World’s Smallest St. Patrick’s Day Parade!  At 12 noon, Downtown Enterprise, on E College Street, everyone is Irish!
What began in 1993 as an idea has transformed into a historical tradition.  This year the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce received nominations for 7 strong Irish descendants contending to be the next Grand Marshal in the one-man parade.  The community was asked to cast their vote in a social media campaign, and the results are in!  Sean Roehler, will serve as the 26th Grand Marshal in the World’s Smallest St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Sean Roehler is currently a Registered Behavior Technician at Southeast Alabama Autism Center. His work is to help children on the Autism Spectrum learn life skills and help them to better interact with the world around them. Sean is involved in many volunteer activities around town. He currently serves as the Music Director at Church on Boll Weevil Circle, and an Associate Pastor at Faith Community Church in Martin Trailer Court.  Additionally, he has also been involved with Relay for Life and the Special Olympics.
Sean’s Irish heritage can be traced back through his father’s grandparents both who emigrated here from Ireland. Their names (Lawrence and Rose [Mcgloin] McDermott) are included on the memorial wall on Ellis Island in the harbor of New York. He is currently researching his Irish heritage and learning new things every day, and has found that his clan can be traced back to the 6th century. He loves and embraces this aspect of his heritage and looking forward to learning more.
“In addition to the World’s Smallest St. Patrick’s Day Parade, we have added one of the world’s smallest races.  Following the parade will be the first ever, Half Pint 0.5K!” said Erin Grantham, Executive Director for the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce.  “This may be the most celebrated St. Patrick’s Day Enterprise has ever seen! There are so many great events happening around the city throughout the day.  We encourage everyone to get festive and wear all of their St. Paddy’s Day flair! Come early to explore Downtown Enterprise, cheer Sean on in the parade, and participate in the 546-yard micro-run.”   Additional details can be found on the Chamber’s website at www.EnterpriseAlabama.com as well as Facebook.
