ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — The center for disease control in Atlanta estimates 1 in 59 children born in the United States has autism.
The Enterprise Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting for a recently formed autism social group Wednesday. It provides support for parents’ whose children have been diagnosed with the condition. On Saturday, August 5th, an autism first responder workshop will be held.
“Teach them how to deal with someone with autism because sometimes they are non-verbal and non communicative,” Shelby Dipilla said.
The autism conference for emergency responders across the Wiregrass will take place at the Beacon of Hope in Ozark. The exact time has not been set. For more information, you can contact Ms. Dipilla at 334-477-4686.
