DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Emmanuel Christian School held its 4th annual ‘Warriors to Warriors’ Color Run Saturday morning.
While many would probably regret waking up early to go running on a college football Saturday, these runners did not because they ran for a great reason.
The color run helps raise money for wounded soldiers for the school’s Wounded Warrior project.
Regardless of the early start and warm temperature, students felt that this was a chance to give back.
“My dad is a veteran so I have a heart for warriors especially wounded warriors. So, I just decided to come out and support them today,” Kayley Bowman said.
“I felt like that was the least thing we can do. We had about 150 people out here and we got wounded soldiers out here,” Javon Neal said. “To see them come out and cross the line is a great thing and great experience.”
The event raised about $8,000 last year, and they believe the great turnout Saturday morning will help raise a good amount again this year.
