Dothan woman charged with Monroe Street shooting

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Suctorah Duncan was arrested on Saturday after Dothan Police said she and another woman got into an altercation in the 700 block of Monroe Street.

During the altercation, Dothan resident Jeremy Sanders tried to diffuse the incident, but Suctorah allegedly pulled out a gun and fired a shot at the person she was arguing with. Instead, the bullet hit Jeremy Sanders.

“Approximately at 9:30 pm Jeremy Sanders was dropped off at the Medical Center with a gunshot womb to his upper torso it was actually under his armpit,” Lt.Watkins said.

During that time, hospital personnel contacted the Dothan Police Department, and that’s when the investigation began.

“During the course of that investigation, Suctorah Duncan was identified as one of our suspects,” Watkins said.

Suctorah Duncan was booked into the Houston County Jail on one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.
