DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dothan man now faces charges for 10 counts of first-degree sex abuse, according to the Dothan Police Department.
Joseph Daniel Thrash, 22, was arrested Monday afternoon by the Dothan Police Department. Lt. Lynn Watkins said information on the nature of the crime is limited as the victim was a minor.
However, Alabama law does provide some guidance on what is considered first-degree sexual abuse. According to the code, first-degree sexual abuse is committed when a person forces someone else into sexual contact or has sexual contact with someone “incapable of consent by reason of being physically helpless or mentally incapacitated.”
Thrash was released from the Houston County Jail early Tuesday morning. He has a combined bond total of $100,000.
