Dothan Ice Cream, Covenant United Methodist Church and Southeast Health share “sweet” moment

News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Southeast Health workers were treated to a sweet surprise Thursday afternoon.

Dothan Ice Cream’s pop-up shop offered Cookies N Cream, Orange Dream, Strawberry Lemonade, and Watermelon popsicles. Members of Covenant United Methodist Church helped distribute the sweets.

The goal: to show support for Wiregrass medical workers as they continue the fight against COVID-19.

“They’re facing some tough struggles,” said CUMC Children Ministries Director Jamey Green. “We know it’s emotional and physical and we just think what better way to say thank you than a little pick-me-up like ice cream, something sweet and cold on a hot day as they enter their shift or as they come off their shift.”

The group also passed out ice cream for workers at Flowers Hospital on Wednesday.
