DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Many families are unable to spend Mother’s Day together and maybe looking for alternative ways to make sure their mothers feel loved, all while abiding by the safer at home order.
One local florist is working to help.
“We are not going into people’s homes and sitting arrangements on their tables,” said Jeffery Miles, owner of Miles of Flowers. “We simply ring the door, and if they will allow us to leave them, we will leave them, but if they want to come and take them from us, then that’s their option to come take them from us at the door.”
Delivery drivers with Miles of Flowers are wearing masks and following health precautions.
“Drivers are wearing masks when they go up to deliver to the doors, the customers we have minimized the number of customers that come in if we see that it’s getting crowded we try to take our customers to one side or the other end of the showroom to try to talk to them that way,” Miles said.
“We take everything very very seriously,” continued John Paul, a delivery driver for the flower shop. “All of us are wearing masks when we are delivering. We have hand sanitizer in the car. When we knock on the door, we place the delivery down so that they can come out and get it so that way we aren’t right up in their area.”
Seeing anywhere from 60-100 deliveries a day, Miles of Flowers has almost met their capacity of flower deliveries for this Mother’s Day. If you still need to order flowers for the moms in your life, pick-up orders may be your only option.
