Dothan Farm Service Agent Arrested

on charges against the government

According to a press release from the Department of Justice, Anna Marie Knowles, 36, of headland was arrested on charges of wire fraud, theft of government property, and using a false document in a matter under the jurisdiction of the federal government. 

This was announced by the United States Attorney Louis V. Franklin, Sr., from the Middle District of Alabama on Thursday. 

Knowles was employed in the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Farm Service Agency office located in Dothan.

Knowles fraudulently obtained $116,500 through the Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program, which she oversaw for Houston County.
