Dothan commission meetings moved to online due to COVID-19 concerns

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Due to COVID-19, Dothan commission meetings have been moved to online. The first meeting was held April 7th.

With the new change, this is a way that commissioners can stay safe by practicing social distancing.

The meeting is conducted through Microsoft Teams and live-streamed on the City of Dothan’s Youtube channel.

Community Relations Officer Vincent Vincent says although it’s a strange way, business can still be done.

“And we hate it for the public that if they have anything to speak to the commission about its not a great mechanism to do that. They can certainly email questions to us and we’ll try our best to answer them,” Vincent said.

The next commission meeting for this upcoming Tuesday has been canceled.
