Dealing with the last minute Christmas shopping frenzy

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas with the amount of last-minute Christmas shoppers filling the parking lot.

Lines are wrapped around parking lots to stores like Ross. With the whirlwind of a year, everyone has had, residents say it’s been even more difficult trying to find that last-minute gift.

“It’s kinda difficult with the COVID; you know, a lot of items have been taken already and the shipping is kinda crazy so we’re out Christmas shopping trying to find what we can.” shopper Tina Williams said.

With a hold on many delivery orders, shoppers said this is their last push to get all their gifts before Christmas even if it is close to the day.

Parking lots are filled with big bags from stores that have even bigger deals and sales making the perfect stocking stuffers for residents.

One resident is empathetic for the essential workers who are allowing them to shop.

“These are stocking stuffers, but I am feeling sorry for those who are working because all of us are masked it’s hard to talk and understand each other and trying to be really joyful so I’ve enjoyed that part.” Ginger Mayer said.
