PINCKARD, Ala. (WDHN) — Schools in Dale County have returned back to extracurricular activities such as sports and band.
The Dale County Warriors started their band camp Monday getting ready for the football season that will begin in about a month.
The Warriors hit the field early in the morning for marching drills and then moved inside for sectionals. The band is taking COVID-19 precautions such as wearing masks and keeping a six-foot distance between each other.
Assistant band director Samantha Krietemeyer said with having to take the COVID-19 precautions, having a small band can pay off when it comes to performing sets on the field.
“The good thing about having a small band is that we are able to separate a little more than some of the larger bands so why we want to grow we’re relieved we have a good number this year where we can keep kind of distance,” She said.
Krietemeyer said she’s thankful to South Dale Middle School for letting the Warriors use their facilities.
